Somo Media Partner program
Publish where military families already read.
Somo Financial Group serves service members, veterans and their families. Media Partners send original, well-sourced articles through our API. Our editors review every one, and approved pieces run on My Military Lifestyle.
Applying is an inquiry, not a sign-up. We look at your published work before anything else happens.

Somo’s companies work with military households every day, through member savings programs, wireless service, pet clubs and community publishing.

What partners get
A working relationship, built on an API
An editor, not an inbox
A person reads every article you send. You get a decision or a specific note on what to change, and you can revise and resubmit. After publication, corrections and takedown requests are handled under the timeline in your agreement.
An API that fits your workflow
Send articles as JSON from your own CMS or tooling. Upload licensed images, send revisions and withdraw drafts over a versioned REST API. Retries are safe, so a timeout never creates a duplicate.
Status sent to you
Signed webhooks tell your systems when an article is received, sent back for changes, approved, scheduled and published, with the live URL. There's no dashboard to check and no status email to chase.
For your engineers
One REST API with an OpenAPI contract, documented end to end. If your team has shipped an integration with webhooks before, none of this will be new.
- OAuth 2.0 client credentials with a signed key assertion. No shared passwords.
- An idempotency key on every create, so retries never duplicate an article.
- HMAC-signed webhooks, retried for 24 hours.
- A staging environment, reviewed by real editors, before production.

The rules are part of the offer
Readers trust our properties because nothing reaches them unchecked. Every partner works to the same rules, and they’re the reason an article published here carries weight.
Human approval on every piece
An editor approves each article before it goes live. Nothing is published automatically.
Sources, cited
Every article lists its sources. Pay, benefits, tax and health topics need primary sources: the agency or the official program page.
A second reviewer for money and benefits
Articles giving money, health, benefits or legal guidance also get a subject-matter review.
Sponsorship disclosed
Every paid or affiliate link is declared and marked as sponsored. An undisclosed one is grounds for rejection.
Licensed images
Every image arrives with its source and license. We scan it, strip its metadata and publish our processed copy.
Real authors, original work
Bylines belong to real people who wrote or reviewed the piece. Each article is original and has one home: ours.
How it works
From first email to first article
Five steps, in order. Credentials come at the end of onboarding, never from a form.
- Step 1
Inquiry
Apply with your publication, a contact, the topics you cover and two or three links to work you've published. The form starts a conversation; it doesn't create an account.
- Step 2
Sample review
Our editors read three to five sample articles, sent as documents, against our editorial policy.
- Step 3
Agreement
We sign an agreement covering ownership and licensing of text and images, originality, corrections and a takedown timeline.
- Step 4
Staging
You send us a public key and get staging credentials. Test submissions, revisions, image uploads and webhooks. Our editors review them like real articles, and nothing is published.
- Step 5
Production
Separate production credentials, starting with a small weekly submission cap during the pilot.
Where content appears
My Military Lifestyle first

A resource hub and community for service members and their families, covering careers, education, PCS moves, lifestyle and finance. Partner articles are published here first, after editorial approval.

We plan to open other Somo properties to partners as the program grows. Your agreement sets out which properties you can submit to, and the API lists them along with the categories and tags each one accepts.
Tell us about your publication
If you publish careful, well-sourced work that military families can use, we’d like to read it.
